The Galil has a strange tendency that most gamers don’t know about. It throws spent brass in excess of 30 ft into the air. The casings fly in an arc, spinning at high velocity. You learn quickly not to stand to the right of the dude with the Galil. These are some of the finer points you get into while tasting burnt powder and watermelon mist on the air.
We officially count ourselves lucky. When you get a chance like this, you just don’t pass it up. In fact, we jumped on it. CMMG, makers of guns, more guns, and bacon, invited us up to their secret lair in Missouri for a day of shooting, nerding out on video games, bbq, and volleyball.
CMMG is a great company that employs some of the most genuine folks we’ve ever met. They care tremendously about their craft, and many of them are huge gamers. We started the day with a drive through the gorgeous MO countryside, followed by a tour of their facility and an afternoon spent on the range.
Highlights of the day:
- All guns were fully automatic! Awesome!
- 9mm AR was just freaking cool to fire…as was the SAW.
- CMMG’s supressed .300 Blackout AR sounds like a bb-gun when used with subsonic ammo. Truly amazing, after firing loud stuff all day.
- Company bbq lunch and volleyball.
- Giant collection of reference pictures and weapon renders!
CMMG truly wowed us with their hospitality.
